Another day well-spent with the Allies was tiring, but fun. Always being the woman in charge, you got your way. Anyways, your plans were always the most thought out. Arthur praised you for your intelligence and stealth, so he became a good friend. He wasn't the one you had your eye on though; you had an eye on Matthew.
Matthew was always so kind and loving, and you always managed to bring the fun out of him. You'd love to go to parties and seasonal events with him, and messing around was another good past-time. Being quiet and shy, he wasn't very noticed until you came along. Now, he always got to speak during meetings and was smiling more often.
With the summer festival coming soon, you knew you were going to have a great time together. You were the person to break him out of his shell. The only real reason you did that was because you loved him ever so dearly. He didn't know, of course, but you were afraid Alfred would blurt it out any minute now. He's smart enough to know not to mess with you, but he's not good at keeping secrets either. Surely Matthew had seen signs you liked him; when you held his hand, took him shopping for books, and going out to eat. Reading was the biggest hobby you shared: from looking at stunning pictures to reading thick novels from your favorite writers. You were more musical than he was, and sometimes he'd catch you singing. Singing was your passion in life. Every last word and note in a song held a special place in your heart. He knew it was the way to win your heart, but he never tried. One of your favorite songs was Once Upon a December, being a very beautiful, romantic song. Even if Matthew didn't love you, he'd play the CD so you'd smile. As all these thoughts surrounded your mine, Matthew had just walked by.
"Hey Matt! You excited for the festival?" you exclaimed. He smiled back at you and said:
"Sure am! It's going to be so much fun, I heard there's gonna be fireworks!" he said. Once you heard fireworks your excitement got the best of you.
"What are we waiting for? Come on, let's go!" You pulled his arm out the door & jumped into the passenger's seat. He climbed into the driver's side and drove to the packed parking lot where you finally found a place to park. You unbuckled, opened your door and stepped outside. You could already smell the food from the Japanese cart: tempura, red pork, tuna sashimi, everything smelled divine. You paid for tickets and played games with Matthew until the sun went down. He had one a stuffed polar bear, which he was saving as a friend for Mr. Kujimaro. You, on the other hand, had won a big pillow in the shape of a heart.Since the sun went down, the fun was about to start.
Fireworks of every color filled the air as you stared in awe. There were many loud cracks, but nothing your ears couldn't handle. The colors and smoke filled the air above in a beautiful array. Suddenly, Matthew stepped in-front of you and put his arms around your waist. You were shorter than him, so you couldn't see.
"M-Matthew! What are you do-" You were about to finish your sentence when he pressed his lips onto yours. You were very surprised, but you didn't complain. You just held him tighter and intensed the kiss. Once you let go, you saw how red his face was.
"This was a great time, [name]. Thank you."
